Glow With the Show debuts with Wishes fireworks and Celebrate the Magic projection show at Walt Disney World

Over the weekend, Walt Disney World continued its rollout of the borrowed-from-Disneyland Glow With the Show technology, enabling light-up Mickey Mouse ear hats to twinkle in sync with various theme park entertainment offerings. In addition to recently debuting at Fantasmic, Glow With the Show now sparkles in time with the Wishes fireworks show and Celebrate the Magic projection show at the Magic Kingdom.

On its first night of performances there, the new-to-Florida technology wasn’t exactly fully operational, not always cooperating throughout. No free ear hats were given out at the Magic Kingdom, with Disney hoping those who received them at Disney’s Hollywood Studios just a few nights prior would attend Saturday night’s first-time presentations. Those who did have the Glow With the Show ears were encouraged by Cast Members to move to the front of Main Street USA, attempting to gather together the most glowing heads possible. The result was a decent showing of what this merchandise is capable of, though certainly an exaggeration of what will normally be seen on a nightly basis with far fewer guests wearing these hats.
