Removed from the busy 2013 D23 Expo main exhibit hall, tucked away up on the second floor of the Anaheim Convention Center was the latest in a line of Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibits in which priceless pieces of Disney history were on display for all attendees’ enjoyment.
This year’s represented films included props and costumes “Mary Poppins,” “Return to Oz,” “Oz the Great and Powerful,” and “Teen Beach Movie,” along with the “Once Upon a Time” TV show and a series of high-fashion Disney Princess-inspired dresses. And in typical Hollywood fashion, some of these items were particularly impressive in person, featuring far more detail than ever showed up on the big screen, while others were surprisingly underwhelming, constructed with the bare minimum in mind to get the look across. Of course, anything from “Mary Poppins” is immediately recognizable and iconic, especially approaching the movie’s 50th anniversary.
But the Treasures exhibit is best experienced unedited, reproduced through flash-free photos below, step-by-step walking through from beginning to end. The photos are all uploaded in full resolution straight out of the camera, so click through to take a much closer look at any of them.
