The Experiment interactive haunted attraction announced for Howl-O-Scream 2013 at Busch Gardens Tampa

Following on the success of their Alone haunted house, Busch Gardens Tampa has announced a new individual trip into terror, this time with an interactive twist.

The Experiment is said to be “the most personally invasive haunted attraction in Howl-O-Scream history,” an all-new experience in which guests become “test subjects” and researchers challenge their fear tolerances and mental endurance, putting them through psychological experiments and must-face fear-inducing elements, including roaches, snakes, needles and darkness.

Rather than seeing the scares, guests participating in The Experiment will become part of them – and refusal to participate ends the experience.

Up to four test subjects can challenge The Experiment at a time. Reservations are required, with the additional cost of $50 for the first guest and $10 for each additional guest in the same reservation – on top of regular Howl-O-Scream admission. The Experiment is available every night of the event, located in the Eqypt area of the park.

Opening weekend for Howl-O-Scream 2013 is Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27 and 28.
