The intergalactic battle between Autobots and Decepticons has come to Florida as Transformers: The Ride 3D officially opened at Universal Orlando today with a explosion-filled, action-packed ceremony.
Over a scorching hot morning, Universal Studios Florida rolled out the red carpet to welcome “Transformers” celebrities Peter Cullen (voice of Optimus Prime), Frank Welker (voice of Megatron), and famed Hollywood director Steven Spielberg (executive producer of Transformers: The Ride 3D). Then General Morshower took to the stage in front of the ride’s entrance to warn Universal Orlando guests of an impending Decepticon invasion. Fortunately, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee arrived – both in vehicle and robot form – to protect Earth and the Allspark with the help of N.E.S.T. personnel, including pyrotechnic bursts in the sky coupled with fighter jets scrambling high overhead.
Hear from the “Transformers” voices and see it all unfold in the video below.

Transformers: The Ride 3D is a thrilling, immersive adventure through the world of the Autobots and Decepticons as they battle for the coveted Allspark, their giver of life. Universal Orlando guests are now being recruited daily by N.E.S.T. to hop aboard Evac, a new Transformer created specifically for the ride, and join in the battle. The ride features giant, high-definition 3D projections that bring the famous robots in disguise to life in a way never before seen.

Today’s grand opening of Transformers: The Ride 3D in Orlando followed the huge opening spectacular that Universal Studios Hollywood produced in May 2012 when they opened the same attraction in their theme park. General Morshower presided over the ceremony there as well, with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee making a high-speed appearance, rolling out to defend against Megatron’s attack.
