Create custom Stormtrooper figurines with fan faces at Star Wars Weekends in Walt Disney World alongside Carbon Freeze Me

in Disney, Entertainment, Events, Merchandise, Movies, Theme Parks, Walt Disney World

“Star Wars” fans can really get into the movies at Walt Disney World this year with a new experience creating custom figurines. Following the success of last year’s Carbon Freeze Me experience, which put fan likenesses onto Han Solo’s body frozen in Carbonite from “Empire Strikes Back,” at this year’s Star Wars Weekends event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park, Disney will also be offering a chance to create custom Stormtroopers featuring fan faces.

A 10-minute experience uses high-resolution 3D face scanners to capture the likeness, then sent to a 3D to produce a figurine, shipped 4-6 weeks later. The figurine stands approximately 7.25″ tall, including the base which measures 4″ wide by 2.5″ long.

UPDATE (5/18/13):
Here’s a look inside the custom Stormtrooper experience.

The Carbon Freeze Me experience will be offered once again this year as well. A Carbon-Freeze Me light-up band or a Stormtrooper button will be given out the day of the experience.

The price for either Star Wars – D-Tech Me experience is $99.95, plus shipping and sales tax (around $120 total).

Here’s a look back at my own Carbon Freeze Me experience last year as well as the finished product, which arrived a bit late, roughly 10 weeks later:

To book either experience, call 407-WDW-TECH (407-939-8324). Availability is only during Star Wars Weekends 2013 (May 17 – 19, May 24 – 26, May 31 – June 2, and June 7 – 9).
