Disney animation has earned a high score with the release of “Wreck-It Ralph,” the video game-based movie that destroyed the box office on opening weekend with record results. But it’s not only the film’s many game character cameos that have made it popular, with most of the screen time given to the title role of Wreck-It Ralph, along with his undeniably adorable little buddy, Vanellope Von Schweetz.

This pair of Disney newcomers has become a hit with moviegoers and likewise are part of an entertaining meet-and-greet at Disney’s Hollywood Studios within The Magic of Disney Animation building.

Guests first step into Game Central Station, passing portals to games including Fix-It Felix Jr and Hero’s Duty, both from the film. (Much to the dismay of every child that passes through, the screens representing these games are not interactive.)

Other amusing areas include a screen looking out into an arcade from the inside of an Out of Order “Galaga” machine and a set of scrolling signs updating waiting guests on the “status” of a variety of classic games like Mortal Kombat, Contra, and Double Dragon, all while strains of recognizable video game music fills the queue, from Super Mario Brothers to Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker to Kingdom Hearts.

But it seems a Cy-Bug or two have also invaded Game Central Station.

Finally the actual meet-and-greet with Ralph and Vanellope is set within the Sugar Rush world, including her racing cart. Vanellope is willing and able to sign autographs while Ralph’s freakishly large hands prevent him from doing so. But they’re both happy to pose for pictures.
