Forget the “Frankenstorm.” The real upcoming excitement in Orlando in advance of Halloween will be Spooky Empire’s annual Ultimate Horror Weekend, this year bringing the zombie hoard further down International Drive in a new location, but offering similar thrills and chills as in the past.
Taking place October 26 - 28, 2012 at the Hilton Orlando on the south end of I-Drive near the Orange County Convention Center, Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend features big name celebrities from the world of horror movies, television, and beyond in special presentations, one-on-one encounters, and late night parties. This year’s headlining guests include Rose McGowan (“Planet Terror,” “Scream”), Freddy Krueger himself Robert Englund along with the entire cast of “A Nightmare on Elm Street 4,” John Kassir (voice of Cryptkeeper from “Tales from the Crypt”) and many, many more from “The Walking Dead” to “Friday the 13th” and beyond.
In addition to celebrities, Spooky Empire also offers an awesomely awful showroom filled with macabre merchandise. Plus bands, live performances, and the infamous annual zombie walk, this year beginning at The Rosen Centre and continuing down I-Drive for all the tourists to gawk at.
Here’s are highlights from last year’s Spooky Empire zombie walk:
And something special is happening tomorrow night at Spooky Empire will be presenting the official after party for the WJRR Halloweenie Roast concert event with Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. Though that pair may not actually show up to the party, it will feature special guest DJ an former Marilyn Manson band member Twiggy Ramirez.
