Be Our Guest Restaurant

The Be Our Guest restaurant is set to reshape the way Walt Disney World Guests can expect to dine at the Magic Kingdom. Not only will it uniquely convert from quick service at lunchtime to sit-down dining at night, but the French-inspired restaurant will be the first location to serve alcohol to Guests in this park.

Disney cites “storytelling and creativity” as the method behind creating the offerings of Be, Our Guest, today revealing new photos and details of what will be served when the New Fantasyland restaurant opens on November 19. Featuring multiple dining rooms, each with its own unique theme, Guests will be immersed in the world of “Beauty and the Beast” while enjoying a lavish meal.

For lunch, Disney is likening the options to that of a “French bistro” while calling dinner “a more elegant affair. But the most noteworthy change is the addition of wines and beers. The Magic Kingdom has previously been a completely alcohol-free theme park during regular park hours. (Some special events in the park have served alcohol there in the past.)

As quoted by the Disney Parks Blog, Stuart McGuire, Beverage Director, Walt Disney Parks, and Resorts, explained the reasoning behind the change: “As part of the overall theming, we wanted to offer wine that enhances the Guest experience and complements the French-inspired cuisine. The wines focus primarily on France’s famous wine-growing regions, including Champagne, Alsace, Loire, Rhone, Burgundy, and Bordeaux. We’ll also offer the leading French beer, Kronenbourg 1664,” says McGuire. “And, staying in the general region, we’ll also offer Belgian beers.”

Disney will not allow alcoholic beverages to be taken outside of the restaurant.

While some fans are shocked by the change to this classic Disney rule, others are quick to point out that the exclusive Club 33 at Disneyland park, Anaheim’s counterpart and predecessor to the Magic Kingdom, serves alcohol within park boundaries each day, tucked away within the restaurant.

Beyond the booze, here’s a glimpse at a few of the food options that will also be served at Be, Our Guest:
