As Disney California Adventure reopened this morning, guests poured into Cars Land and immediately lined up for the park’s biggest new ride, Radiator Springs Racers. The line quickly outgrew the attraction’s queue area, winding outside of Cars Land all the way to Paradise Pier with posted wait times up to 4 hours, though some Cast Members were saying it was closer to 5-6 hours long.
Take a stroll around the entire line, which begins at the Radiator Springs Racers entrance, winds through its queue, back out into the park, around to Paradise Pier, then turns around and returns to finish at the ride.

While standby wait times reached as high as 240 minutes, even the single rider line offered little relief at half that.
The mountain range of Radiator Springs Racers is flanked on all sides by seemingly endless switchbacks filled with guests eagerly awaiting their turn to ride.
Outside of Cars Land, guests cross a bridge and enter the Paradise Pier area, only to turn around and repeat their journey in reverse on the way back to the attraction.
Disney was prepared for an even bigger turnout - just in case- taping arrows and lanes all the way through the Paradise Park area.
Long lines have been made worse by regular downtime of the ride throughout this opening day and big crowds are expected to continue through opening weekend, particularly on Sunday when all Disneyland annual passholder blackouts are lifted. There’s no doubt everyone is excited to ride a race to the finish of both Radiator Springs Racers and the Disney California Adventure renovation.
This is the type of crowds they were expecting back in 2001 now Disney can say there might be days were people will be turned away in DCA. I’m depressed actually I always got hyped when I read the expansion updates but hey it’s done, beautiful and I bet pressler is jealous the parks popular after he left, serves him right. After a few more days the Matterhorn then finaly Fantasyland.

Reminds me of waiting the best part of 3 hours for Test Track back in 1999!!
Looks like the opening for Indiana Jones at Disneyland during the 40th anniversary year. Back then they would say it broke down to help control the lines.
