Walt Disney World plans to discuss all that’s new around the resort as well as unveil more details about ongoing projects throughout its theme parks, all part of a “Summer to Remember.” We’ll be touring all over Walt Disney World over the coming days as Disney highlights recent additions to their theme parks and beyond and takes a look at what’s to come in the next few years.
Disney’s annual “What’s New, What’s Next” media presentation will be held Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. ET, covering exciting topics for upcoming and ongoing projects such as New Fantasyland progress, the recently-begun Test Track update, Phineas & Ferb’s Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure at Epcot, and the Splitsville bowling alley and restaurant coming to Downtown Disney. Other topics to be featured in the presentation include the Richard Petty Exotic Driving Experience, Wild Africa Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Adventures by Disney and Aulani, Disney Cruise Line, Run Disney, Disneyland Resort, and Disney Parks Merchandise.
There are sure to be others, as Disney usually saves a few surprises for these presentations each year. So be sure to follow along with us on Twitter and Facebook for all the latest updates.
And speaking of New Fantasyland, I will personally be touring the construction site of the Magic Kingdom’s largest-ever expansion Thursday morning. Unfortunately, as it is a huge work-in-progress and an active construction zone, photography and videography will not be allowed. But I’ll be sure to report back about everything I see “behind the wall.”
If all that weren’t enough, we’ll be bringing you a closer look at two of Walt Disney World’s newest hotel experiences, beginning with a sneak preview of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort on Thursday night, as we tour the new family suites that will launch with the hotel on May 31 – next month. Then on Friday afternoon, we’ll also be taking a trip through the new Royal Guest Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.
Disney is including it all under the banner of a “Summer to Remember” and it surely is one with many new and upcoming experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort and throughout the rest of the world, particularly at Disneyland Resort where Cars Land and Buena Vista Street will be among the many attractions to also debut this summer.
While Disney entertainment is always most thrilling in person, we’ll continue to bring the excitement to you over the next few days and in the coming weeks and months as we focus in on all that’s new in Orlando and Anaheim. So keep checking back to Inside the Magic for all the latest Disney fun!

When you are on your tour can you PLEASE ask this question: Why is the Seven Dwarves Mine Train not going to open until 2014 if it’s already under construction now? It seems like it’s scheduled for a construction that lasts two years…and it just seems like a long time for it to be built.
Can you ask what’s up with that?
There are so many exciting and new things happening at Walt Disney World. It is sure to be a great year!
What about Pleasure Island? Can you ask about PI if they don’t bring it up?
So, aside from Fantasyland growing which was their main event the last 2 years of announcements, mainly in venues which you have to pay for (restaurants) and character greetings, and bowling alley which you pay for, and GMs paying to make test track more of an advertisement for its cars than now….this will be another year where Disney cheapens out. Despite HUGE increases in crowds in parks and cut backs at every corner for dining to not even opening as many turnstiles and installing fast passes which will reward only those paying extra staying at resorts, this is is another disappointing Disney year. It’s time for a new “Walt” to step onto running the company and not a banker. No wonder we are spending less of our time and money at Disney and they lose shares to competing parks with better value.

Life is so short and precious that negativity is always a waste of time. I feel sad for you that you choose to stroll on the dark and gloomy side of the street instead of being excited about all the great things that are coming to the parks soon. There’s always a choice between complaining and bemoaning things and choosing to enjoy them…and I hope some day you learn to choose to enjoy things and celebrate life instead of raining on parades.
Are you crazy, putting down Disney??? Do you even realize how fantastic all the new attractions are and how lucky we all are to be able to be here? There are thousands of children and families that would gladly put up with the lines and less turnstiles if they could! Please stay away if you cannot”put on a happy face”!
