One More Disney Day special entertainment schedule revealed for 24-hour theme park day at Walt Disney World and Disneyland

in Disney, Disneyland Resort, Entertainment, Events, Theme Parks, Walt Disney World

For the first time ever, Disney will be leaving its Magic Kingdom and Disneyland parks open for a full 24 hours simultaneously between both parks on Feb. 29, 2012, in honor of the additional day in this Leap Year. During the day, both parks will more or less operate a normal schedule, with parades, fireworks, character meet-and-greets, and plenty of attractions to enjoy. But a few extra special entertainment bonuses are being offered during the wee hours of the morning for those still awake enough to enjoy them.

At Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, guests will have a chance to see the following extra entertainment:

  • Disney’s Dance the Night Away Party at Cinderella Castle, from 1 a.m. – 5:30 a.m.
  • Main Street Electrical Parade, at 10 p.m. and midnight
  • “The Magic, The Memories and You!” at 7:45 p.m., 9 p.m., 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. (March 1)
  • Frontierland Hoedown at 2:45 a.m., 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.
  • The late-night / early-morning Hub dance party is the most unique entertainment offering of the night and will surely fill the park with loud music helping guests to stay excited after spending so many hours in the park.

Characters that will be meeting guests during those early morning hours are scheduled to include Phineas and Ferb in Tomorrowland, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in Fantasyland, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse in Town Square, who will be dressed in their PJs.

At Disneyland park in California, commemorative ear hats will be given out for the first 2,000 guests entering the park at 6 a.m., special food will be available throughout the evening and morning, and bonus entertainment includes:

  • Dance party featuring KIIS DJs at Tomorrowland Terrace from 8:30 p.m. – 4 a.m.
  • Mickey’s Soundsational Parade at 10 p.m.
  • Billy Hill & the Hillbillies at The Golden Horseshoe from 11:15 p.m. – 4:45 a.m.
  • “Fantasmic!” at 1 a.m.
  • Characters appearing at Disneyland include Mickey Mouse and friends in pajamas at Carnation Plaza Gardens, (after Mickey makes his cross-country voyage, of course), Darth Vader and Stormtroopers in Tomorrowland, and Country Bears in Frontierland.

Both parks will open at 6 a.m. and remain open until 6 a.m. the following day, respectively for each time zone, making it the longest consecutive period in Disney history that they have entertained guests throughout the full day within the United States. Not all attractions will be open at all times, but guests will always be able to find something to eat, ride, and enjoy throughout the special One More Disney Day for 2012.
