Disney Fantasy cruise to sail in 2012 with Animation Magic dinner show, Aladdin musical, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and European lounges

In a press briefing today Disney unveiled new features that will be aboard its newest cruise ship launching in March 2012, the Disney Fantasy. The 4,000-passenger ship is similar to the recently-launched Disney Dream, including many of the same popular features like the AquaDuck water slide and Magical Portholes, and Enchanted Artwork, but will also include many new experiences.

To start, the Animator’s Palate restaurant, which is featured on every Disney Cruise Line ship, will feature a new dinner show called “Animation Magic” staring Mickey Mouse. This will accompany Turtle Talk with Crush, already part of the Animator’s Palate experience on the Disney Dream.

A family enjoys dinner at a themed restaurant, watching a vibrant Mickey Mouse animation on a giant screen behind them as they experience the magical Animation Magic dinner show, just like guests aboard the Disney Fantasy cruise.

Sorcerer Mickey will magically appear on the walls (video screens) inside the restaurant and cause black-and-white Mickey drawings to come to life in full color. That moment will be followed by a “Be Our Guest” montage of food-related Disney fun. There’s more to the show, but it’s no fun if all is spoiled here.

Lavish dining room aboard the Disney Fantasy, featuring majestic columns, rich red carpets, sparkling chandelier, and tables draped in crisp white linens—inviting guests into a magical atmosphere as mesmerizing as a live Aladdin show at sea.

In place of the Disney Dream’s Royal Palace restaurant will be the Disney Fantasy’s Royal Court, with a similar Disney Princess theme inspired by Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty.

Step into the lively Animation Magic dinner show on the Disney Fantasy, where carnival masks line a whimsical bar glowing with bright lights. Red stools invite you to relax on vibrant green floors, creating a playful atmosphere that captures the magic and excitement Disney fans expect aboard this beloved cruise.

The adult entertainment district aboard the Disney Fantasy will be called La Piazza at Europa, inspired by Italian cities including such details as Venetian masks, a Vespa, and a vintage carousel.

A cozy pub with wooden tables, classic bar stools, emerald-green walls, and shelves lined with bottles, bathed in warm light—channeling the delightful ambiance guests experience just before the Animation Magic dinner show aboard Disney Fantasy.

Nearby, O’Gill’s Pub at Europa will offer plenty of Irish fun and drinking.

Chic lounge styled like a Disney Fantasy cruise venue, featuring plush chairs, round tables, ornate décor, and whimsical pink patterned walls illuminated by soft lighting—an inviting spot perfect for relaxing between theme park adventures or enjoying exclusive entertainment experiences.

Ooh La La at Europa will be a lounch inspired by a French boudoir featuring comfortable chaise lounges.

Elegant lounge with plush purple chairs, a stylish bar, and expansive windows overlooking the city skyline at sunset—a space reminiscent of the upscale venues on Disney Fantasy. Ideal for unwinding after interactive fun at Animation Magic or marveling at the Broadway-caliber Aladdin stage show onboard.

The Disney Dream features a Skyline lounge offering lifelike views of United States cityscapes. On the Fantasy, it will be Skyline Europa, featuring views of European city skylines, including Paris, London, Barcelona, Athens and St. Petersburg.

Step into the vibrant, futuristic red bar aboard the Disney Fantasy, where sleek glossy stools and neon lights create an energetic atmosphere. The carpet bursts with colors and intricate patterns inspired by subway maps, echoing the playful spirit found throughout Disney Parks. Located just moments from the magical Aladdin musical, this spot offers a dazzling escape for fans of Disney’s unforgettable entertainment experiences at sea.

Another club on the Disney Fantasy will be The Tube at Europa, inspired by the London Underground.

Genie, dressed in a sharp tuxedo, and Aladdin in classic harem pants pose together on stage with the iconic magic lamp during the dazzling Aladdin musical aboard the Disney Fantasy cruise ship.

In addition to the new restaurant show, Disney will include Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular on board, a popular show at the Disney California Adventure theme park for many years.

Whimsical salon aboard the Disney Fantasy, featuring plush purple chairs, sparkling chandeliers, and rows of vibrant princess gowns by grand mirrors—an enchanting prep spot for kids before the magical Aladdin stage show.

Another park-to-cruise attraction will be the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique“>Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where children can get made over in “Captain Mickey Mouse” and “Princess Minnie Mouse” packages similar to those offered in the theme parks. On special Pirate nights, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will transform into the Pirates League, offering guests a chance to become swashbucklers at sea.

Step into a Disney Fantasy cruise-inspired pirate adventure room, complete with swashbuckling costumes, glittering treasure, skull decorations, and iconic pirate flags—capturing the playful excitement of a Disney entertainment experience. A reflective ceiling adds an immersive touch to the themed environment.

Each Disney Cruise Line ship features an icon bronze statue in its main atrium and on the Disney Fantasy it will be “Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse.

The Disney Fantasy will sail Caribbean itineraries featuring a mixture of stops at St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Cozumel, San Juan, Puerto Rico and Disney’s private Bahamas island, Castaway Cay. The maiden voyage is scheduled for the end of March 2012.
