Since the new Town Square Theater recently opened at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, plenty of pictures and video have shown up online (including our own), showing off all the the details found throughout the new Mickey Mouse meet-and-greet.
But given the turn-of-the-century Victorian theater theme of the new location, it simply didn’t seem right to present it all in vibrant color with stereo sound using the latest camera technology. So today I offer a different sort of look at Mickey’s new home in Town Square Theater.
Enjoy the silent film-inspired video below taking you on a tour of the new Town Square Theater and meeting Magician Mickey Mouse:
Town Square Theater also currently offers visitors a chance to meet and greet with the Disney Princesses until their new home is ready as part of the New Fantasyland expansion. It also features the first-ever use of Disney’s Fastpass system to reserve character meet-and-greet times. So far, wait times have been low for both meet-and-greets, so it seems the Fastpass system is doing its job of keeping guests happy no matter which method of visiting they choose to use.
But even with all the new technology keeping wait times down, it still feels most appropriate to me to witness the 1901 character meeting through the fun filter of the silent film above.

The magic hat marked “Ten Shillings & Sixpence”?
(And while it’s a good direct replacement for the County Fair store’s meet lines, I don’t remember this much space being in the Main St. theater…Are you sure this’s WDW? Is the Exposition Hall or the Cinema?)
Yes, this is definitely Walt Disney World. I should know – I shot the video!
Town Square Theater took over the entirety of Exposition Hall, including the small theater in the back and everything leading up to the front door. When you enter, there is still a small waiting area to the left for Tony’s restaurant and a small store to the right, but the rest is for the new area. A lot of construction went on in there.
Well, guess there’s all that room in the main lobby that they don’t need for as much of a Kodak film and camera store anymore.
Hey Ricky, Thanks for the video!
As I was watching it I noticed many things that were included in the Main Street Magic Shop from the old VMK game. The rabbit in the hat, the escape tank, Mickey tux and more. Looks like a fun walk through.
Thanks again

Does getting a fastpass for Mickey lock you out of the fastpass system for a period of time, or is the Mickey fastpass on a seperate FP network?
Mickey’s Fastpasses are on the same system as the rest of the park, so it will give you a time after which you can get another elsewhere.
