As part of the 2011 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, Disney has erected Rapunzel’s tower from the hit film Tangled near the Germany pavilion. The display features Rapunzel’s long, golden hair flowing down from the tall tower while guests hear her sing from within to illuminate the magical powers of her locks.

During the day, guests get a good glimpse at the detail Disney has put into recreating the iconic tower from the film, including windows that open and shut. At night, Rapunzel’s hair glows along with her song. Below is a video of the Tangled tower, during daytime and nighttime:
The tower not only entertains guests but also promotes the upcoming home release of Tangled, due out on March 29, 2011 on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and DVD.
Rapunzel, as well as her Tangled co-star Flynn Ryder, can currently be met in person at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. The 2011 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival continues through May 15, 2011.
A sign with the DVD release date in front of the tower? Is there no trace of shame left in those suits?
It’s not the only one. The Lion King topiaries also have a sign in front of them for an upcoming home re-re-re-release of the movie.
But I will gladly take a bit of not-so-subtle advertising if it means getting excellent new displays like this. It’s not like Rapunzel is screaming out from her tower, “HEY! BUY MY DVD!”
