This year’s dates for the annual Star Wars celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios aptly called “Star Wars Weekends” have been announced, along with a few details about who will be making special appearances.

Star Wars Weekends 2011 will be held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning on May 20 and wrapping up June 12.

Star Wars celebrities, characters, and merchandise will take over the theme park along with behind-the-scenes presentations and more.

The full celebrity lineup has not yet been announced but Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) will be returning for the first two weekends (May 20-22 and May 27-29) and Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” will appear each weekend this year as Celebrity Host.

But the biggest event to happen during Star Wars Weekends 2011 will be the grand reopening of Star Tours, as the newly-enhanced version called Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. The ride will still take guests on an intergalactic journey through the Star Wars universe but will now feature C-3PO as the Starspeeder pilot and 3-D movies throughout the journey, with different destinations on each flight.

Each year, Star Wars Weekends includes the fan-favorite Hyperspace Hoopla featuring the Dance-Off with the Star Wars Stars, where familiar characters dance to popular tunes. Here’s a look at last year’s Dance-Off:
