Almost no guest can resist the unique taste of Butterbeer when visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando. The drink created exclusively for the theme park is sweet and delicious – but how nutritious is it?
So far, Universal Orlando has refused to reveal any specifics surrounding Butterbeer’s ingredients or nutritional information other than to note that the beverage is non-dairy. But the folks at WalletPop have done a little research of their own. After getting a sample from the park and sending it to a lab, they have released the following unofficial nutritional information for a 14-ounce Butterbeer:
Fat: 3.5 grams
Sugar: 29 grams
WalletPop compares it to having “more calories than a Coke, but less sugar” and “slightly less carbs than a bagel.” They also note that a “McDonald’s shake has more than double the calories, triple the fat and double the sugar,” so maybe the fact that I usually down 1-2 Butterbeers on every visit to the Wizarding World isn’t so bad after all.
It looks like Harry Potter film stars Emma Watson, Matthew Lewis, and James and Oliver Phelps didn’t have to worry about their slim figures while visiting the Three Broomsticks above.
