Details for the previously-hinted “rock and roll” theme of Howl-O-Scream 2010 at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay have been revealed. This year’s theme surrounds a band called My X, fronted by female singer Sylvie (@SylvieMyX on Twitter).
The Howl-O-Scream web site has been updated to include a downloadable song by My X and plenty of band photos, like this one (and those above):
This year’s event icon (main character) is once again be female, following the trend set by past two years’ disturbed Raven Twins and vampire fashionista Ms. Vayne.
Today’s reveal began on Twitter by @HOSInsider, offering an initial glimpse at Sylvie:
That image was accompanied by the caption: “Looks like she’s got an ax to grind. HAH! Get it? Get it? Ax? Guitar?” Another image shows the mysterious female figure from behind, silhouetted against a light:
What’s still unclear is how exactly My X and Sylvie will turn sinister for the Halloween event. Sylvie’s Twitter profile offers a hint, via song lyrics:
There’s nothing sweeter than taking control.
Bow down and follow my rules.
Tempt me and you’re tempting fate.
You had the love now I got the hate.
Additional pictures seem to lead through a few run-down backstage areas of a concert, including large electrical throw switches, candles, and a practice or dressing room:
The images have been released under the guise that @HOSInsider “found” their photographer’s SD card and is posting some of the “discovered” images.
In addition to the rock theme and icon, it’s likely the Howl-O-Scream 2010 stage show will dive deep into the world of music, spanning several genres. Audition listings call for a variety of musicians, including:

This is probably the worst and least “scary” theme i’ve ever heard for a haunted attraction.
Well, they haven’t actually revealed how this will be scary yet. So far, it’s just a band.
But I’m sure we’ll find out soon.
I think it sounds pretty cool, the rock band theme is pretty sweet. I wonder how they’ll shake things up at Howl-O-Scream this year…
They have posted more updates on the busch gardens website. Couple new haunted houses, the “alone” attraction, and lots more. Looks pretty sweet actually!
im goin with meh friend this friday…we’re gonna stay till the park closes and shes gonna crash at my place xD
I’ve been watching Lost on Hulu and the commercial for Howl-O-Scream keeps coming up. I hate it so much I’ve been literally googling around to see who I can complain to about this. MY GOD, this song ‘My Ex’ is so ridiculous, at first I thought it was a joke. I thought they must have paid the lead singer a lot of money to get her look and sound so ridiculous (those ridiculous poses and makeup, and awful, stupid lyrics, etc.) I just found out it’s actually a real band??? Every time she sings “You’re my EXXX!” I cringe and every time she sings “AND I ROCKED HIS WORLD!!!” I laugh. Who thought of this absolute CRAP?
Mary is like 12000% right.
I hate this commercial sooo much, it just sounds awful!, make smy eyes and my ears bleed everytime i hear her voice…matbe thats the spooky part..? ..hmm…bottom line.im glad im not the only one that thinks this chick or band succks ass..btw my worst favorite part is the” you are my (super highpitch)life! baby)brrrr ..creepy!
Im glad all my fans came to see me perform!
