It’s been known for a few months now that the long-running game show “Family Feud” would begin taping its upcoming season at Universal Studios Orlando with new host Steve Harvey. Now taping dates and ticketing details have been released, revealing information on how you can see the show.
Despite the fact that “Family Feud” will be taped within Universal Studios, you won’t need a theme park admission ticket to see a taping. Interestingly, no tickets are needed, required, or even available to see the a taping of the show. Those without park tickets should park in a Universal Orlando parking garage ($14) and walk through Universal CityWalk toward the Sharp AQUOS Theatre, which is the everyday home of the Blue Man Group. From there, Family Feud signs will direct you to the soundstage where they will be taping. If you do have admission to the Universal Studios theme park, there will be signs posted within the park pointing guests to the taping location.
Since no tickets are required, there will likely be a long line to wait to get in, with no guarantees of seeing the show. Seats will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and they are encouraging you to arrive one hour prior to doors open (at least).
The “Family Feud” taping dates at Universal Studios Orlando are:
July 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25
August 6, 7, 8, 20, 21, 22
September 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19
Taping times vary, but several episodes of the show are likely going to be recorded each day. Specific times and other information can be obtained by calling 407-224-6000.
And if you’re wondering how to get on the show, auditions were already held at Universal Orlando (and several other cities around the country) a few weeks/months ago. I auditioned with my family and we unfortunately were not chosen to be contestants. It was said that only around 10% of those trying out would make the cut, so at least we were in the majority! (That’s looking on the bright side, right?)
Two cities remain in the audition schedule:
May 15 & 16 2010
May 22 & 23 2010
